DIY Pumpkin Pie Garland

Pumpkin Pie Garland Feature Image

Are you ready for pumpkin spice season?! I will always love Christmas but Thanksgiving has really become my favorite holiday. And Autumn is so beautiful with the changing colors of the leaves. Here’s a fun craft you can make as a decoration to celebrate the season! Oh and there’s no sewing needed.

Download the FREE pattern to print here.

Materials
Felt (orange, tan & white – 1 or 2 sheets of each color is enough)
String (whichever kind you like – I used cotton string)
Chip Board (cereal box material)
Poly Stuffing (only a tiny amount needed)

Supplies
Fabric Glue
Hot Glue Gun/Hot Glue Sticks
Paper Scissors
Fabric Scissors
Pencil
Printer/Paper

1 – Cut out the pattern and trace the pie piece onto the chip board 8 times. Cut them out and glue to the orange felt with fabric glue (to the printed side of the board). If the moisture makes the board warp, press under some heavy books as they dry. Check out my Tetris skills using my last piece of orange felt!

2 – Cut out the crust pieces out of tan felt, and hot glue the crust to the back side (about 1/4″) of the pie slice. It’s easiest to glue at the 2 sides first, then in the middle, then the rest (it will gather slightly).

3 – Fold over the crust to the front side, meeting the edge of the pie slice. Hot glue down (it will pucker slightly).

4 – Hot glue the crust on top of the orange at the corners. Hot glue the crust in 2 more spots in the middle, creating a ruffle.

5 – Attach the back loop piece to the back of the crust by hot-gluing the loop piece to the top, then folding over and gluing along the bottom.

6 – Cut out the whipped cream in white felt, and add a tiny bit of stuffing to the middle. Fold each point to the middle, layering each on top of the next as you go. Glue on top of the pie piece.

7 – Repeat steps for each pie slice and thread string through the loops. You can make them whatever length you wish, and you may want to add hot glue inside the loops to keep them from moving. Tie a loop on both ends for hanging (hiding the string end inside the loop).
