Quite a while ago I patterned my own amigurumi cherries, and while I was happy with it at the time, I have grown in the crochet craft over the years and realized I could improve it. So I worked on it and put both the finished product and the pattern in my Etsy shop (link at the top of this page)! AND the pattern is only $1…you can’t buy much for $1 these days…even at Dollar Tree everything is at least $1.25 now, or more!
I have now contributed 2 crochet patterns to the crochet community…the cherries and the Yoshi-inspired hat. I did the same with the hat…revisited the pattern and made improvements. The popularity of the pattern was such a pleasant surprise, as were all the 5-star reviews! Then I received a 4-star review…still a good review, but I was bummed to lose my streak. However, the person was absolutely correct and so I changed the pattern. I am more happy with it than ever!
So this journey I’m on of developing patterns has been a great lesson in humility. If I’m willing to be honest with myself and realize there’s always more to learn, I will continue to grow and improve in general!
Have you tried either pattern? Let me know with a comment!
