Tiny Fashion Big Style

When I found out I was pregnant, I wanted it to be a girl so badly, but I didn’t dare say it out loud. I thought if I wanted it too much, it wouldn’t happen. Or if it was a boy, people would think I’d love him less or something. But dreams really do come true…I had my beautiful baby girl Lily on October 5th, 2017.

One really wonderful thing about having a little girl is I get to dress her up like my little dolly. You really can’t blame me as a past Doll Designer! She’s worn so many cute things in her first 6 months of life, and here are my very favorites.

Mermaid Lily

This mermaid sleeper from Amazon was a gift from my sister, and my first favorite item Lily ever wore (it reminds me of the Starbucks logo, which might be intentional). In that first month she was going through probably a dozen diapers a day, and it was really easy to just untie and tie the bottom. Plus it has built-in gloves to prevent scratching herself. This is also the time my mom discovered she had a dimple!

This insanely cute fox sweater (by Baby Gap) and fox outfit (by Carter’s) were also gifts…I love how my family goes along with the fox theme! I submitted the sweater photo for the ‘Babies on Parade’ article in the local newspaper, which is the announcement of babies born for the year. Check out Lily doing Blue Steel for the camera in the fox outfit. Or maybe it should be called Pink Fluff. I think the set was originally intended for boys, but add a head bow and voila, it works for girls! When I posted the photo on Instagram, Carter’s asked me if they could add it to their gallery.

Lily Snow White Sleeper

Yet another gift was this sweet Snow White sleeper (by Baby Gap). Cold weather makes for very nice ‘warm winter’s naps,’ so many days she just stayed in a sleeper. I love the soft ivory color and the precious animal characters. We have countless pink sleepers, and while I like them, other colors are always a refreshing change. There’s just something magical about Disney Princesses, and it was magical the day she gave me a kiss at only 3 months old, and that I captured it with Snapchat!

Yet another gift was this sweet tutu outfit (by Baby Essentials) that reads Tutu Cute. I’m generally not a fan of clothes with words on them, but I’m a sucker for puns. No one can resist the cuteness of this tiny dancer…not even the dog!

Blueberry Hill Hat Lily

I’m a little obsessed with this darling bunny hat from The Blueberry Hill. My mom always called me and my sister ‘bunnies,’ and now I call Lily my bunny. This was such a fun piece for Easter. I’ve been learning how to crochet and thought maybe I could make one, but since I can only make flat squares for now, I just had to buy it. I love the flower detail on the top.

So instead I ordered this adorable headband from the Etsy shop My Dear Ellie. DIY’ing is fun, but even if I had found the materials, I would’ve spent more than I would just buying the headband. Plus I love to support other artists, because I know what it’s like!

I got this pretty pastel yellow cotton dress (by Old Navy) to go with it, which comes with a matching diaper cover. I adore the eyelet lace hem. It does need ironing after washing, but it’s so small, it doesn’t take long at all. Lily wore this for Easter service, and did her little wiggle dance with a flirty smile for her admirers in the row behind us. So I guess I’m not the only one who feels great in cute clothes!

Which is your favorite? Tell me with a comment!
