Once upon a time (November 2023), the most gorgeous holiday dress manifested before my very eyes (in a Facebook ad). I followed the link to buy it, but it was sold out.
Fast forward to 12 months later to November 2024 when my daughter gets to be in The Nutcracker for the very first time. I remembered the dress, thinking it would be perfect for the occasion with the lovely shade of sugarplum. My usual go-to for fashions of the past is Poshmark, but I didn’t know the brand name. Here’s where Pinterest saved the day! I had the dress pinned, so Pinterest showed me the same dress available from quite a few different places. That’s how I found Holley Girl, and the Layton dress!
It was final sale, and I wasn’t sure on the size, but that’s where the video came in to help. She showed the stretch so I was pretty confident it would fit, and it did! It went perfectly with my beaded purse (from this post) and I wore them to The Nutcracker.
I’m extremely picky with my clothes…usually I look for something very specific (like long length dark wash high-waisted button fly flare jeans), so I don’t just shop around and buy a bunch of pieces. But I was so impressed with HG that I started following to see all the latest videos, annnnnnd…she posted. The cutest. Sweater. Ever. The Berry Cherry Cardigan!
I often tell myself: Just because it’s cherries doesn’t mean I have to have it. But this was just too perfect to pass up.
So YES I ordered it! And it was on sale too. It looks just as great in person as it did in the HG video. I think I might love her. Isn’t she so cute? (I feel just as cute when I wear my HG clothes!) She’s like the fashion fairy godmother I always wanted. I haven’t really experienced anything else like HG, and she gives me strong vibes of Anne Hathaway’s character in The Intern. Ever seen that movie? Hmmm…based on a true story, perhaps?
I’m not a rep or anything like that (but man I easily could be!), so this is just me sharing my awesome fashion discovery with you if you haven’t already heard of it. Your next stylish piece awaits at Holley Girl…I wonder what my next one will be? I really don’t know, but one of my fashion rules is: buy it now, then find the occasion for it later 😉
